Just wondering, I DON'T want to sell as I have cherished this book since I purchased new = I worked in a book store and we had a "new author' section. We were allowed to 'check out' new books to better serve customers. I checked out this book, and then bought it. I then turned on untold number of friends to this author, and only recently stopped loaning out my copy when a friend said - Hey! this is a 1st edition! Stop loaning it out!

Thankfully, it being a hard cover, I always hold on to the jacket when loaning, so I would say this is in good/very good condition. (some 'bookshelf wear' on the jacket) and some wear on the silver title stamp on the spine - otherwise - perfect.

Anyway, like I said, its NOT for sale. I was just curious. but from what I've seen, I'm going to but a PB edition to loan out tomorrow.

Might help if the name of the book and it's author were given. Most of us don't have ESPN.

It depends on a lot of things. The condition of the book and dust jacket are the most important. Is it signed? I've seen them go anywhere from $100-500 on ebay.

There are 26 copies on www.abebooks.com right now, that are asking between $200-1500, so there's a range for you, the higher ones are all signed. Ebay has one going for $242 right now.

The value is only as high as what people are willing to spend. As you can see, there are many out there right now for less then $242, and yet, people will still spend what they want. I have books worth $400 that won't sell on ebay one day, but then will sell for more a month later. It's a bit of a crapshoot.

If you are just going to hold on to it, know that it is worth between $200-400, but more importantly, that it is a seminal book.

Peace,
Richard

I don't ever look at what forum it's in, I just use the new posts feature.
