I know.. I know.. The first rule of Fight Club is...

But THIS IS HAPPENING!

I am proud to announce that the official world premiere of Fight Club the play is scheduled for April 25, 2008.

It will take place in the Czech Republic, Europe, on the stage of the legendary Drama Studio in Usti nad Labem (Usti upon Labe).

The Usti Drama Studio is well-known for a steady run of high-quality repertoire, often including progressive contemporary authors. Recently they celebrated its 35th anniversary. It is an institution with rich history, a long list of great productions, and a big family of significant actors & acclaimed directors.

And why do I say the premiere is "official"? After many months of unsuccessful trials to get the permission to stage the novel, last year the Studio received a personal go-ahead from Chuck. Of course, it arrived together with the usual host of presents, souvenirs & crazy thingies accompanying the letter.. Smile
(I will try and get some pictures).

So, for a few weeks now, the whole ensemble has been ejnoying rehersals (and fights) and looking forward to the premiere.

As for the cast, Marla will be played by Tereza Hofová, while Marek Nemec and Martin Plouhar are Jack and Tyler Durden.  The play is directed by Filip Nuckolls.

The theatre website (only in Czech, sorry) is www.cinoherak.cz.
The Fight Club world premiere announcement can be found right here.

(in for a little language lesson? ok, then: "Svetova premiera" = world premiere; "Anarchisticka hmyna" = anarchistic anthem; "Kdyz vsechno ztratite, pak jste svobodni a muzete si delat, co chcete" = only after we'we lost everything, we are free to do anything).

All from me now. More info soon.

Keep the fingers crossed!

I know David Fincher and Chuck recently were quoted discussing Fight Club coming to Broadway with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails possibly doing the music.  The article is here:

Remember to post some video clips of your play if can.  Good luck.

Dave
