sorry, but could someone tell me their interpretation of that scene in the car towards the end? in the book the mechanic guy is driving, and in the movie tyler is driving and gets them into an accident.

fanks a bunch. so tyler/mechanic is telling the narrator his philosophy, and the narrator is rejecting it?


the mechanic isnt in the movie is one reason. its a typical thing that happens when translating a book to movie. throw characters together. especially because the mechanic is basically telling the narrator tylers philosophy. its just convenience. rather than introduce a new character and hour and a half into the movie they just put him into tyler. there are plenty of differences between the book and movie.
