Thought I would update my post. It's really interesting seeing so many Choke's and Survivor's being on the numbers one's of many peoples. I never thought they were as popular as Fight Club:
Fight Club
Survivor
Choke
Lullaby
Fugitives and Refugess
Need to Read:
Invisible Monsters
Diary
Having a tough time getting through Diary. It's just a little grim and not as entertaining to me. Peace.

im nervous about Fugitives and Refugees
should i read it?
Yeah sure. You're a Chuck fan. And besides it gives you some good stories in it as well. Not just a stupid ass travel brochure. Obiosuly I wouldn't rate it as high as most of his stories, but better than some literature out there.

4.) Choke
5.) Survivor
I have not read the others; Chuck is getting better.
Cheers

1 - Survivor (Beautiful, funny, tragic, Masterpiece)
2 - Fight Club (It started the obsession)
3 - Invisible Monsters ( twists and turns)
4 - Guts (for the guts to write it)
5 - Diary (gothic horror reborn)
6 - Choke (funny but not solid)
7 - Lullaby (great premise but fades towards the end)
a potent allegory of what it it means to be young and (barely) alive in a dog-eat-dog world.
Survivor--outlived expectations
Lullaby--Solid, held up for me
Fight Club--Still great
Invisible Monsters--How'd he write her?
Diary--I need to read it again
Choke--Overrated; I like the colony and rocks bits
Own but haven't read the non-fiction.
it's very difficult for me to rank Chuck's books, since I love them all...! the only thing I'm sure about is that Invisible Monsters is my favourite

Invisible Monsters-The entire story just compleatly enthralled me in the way that few other books have
Fight Club-The reason I started to read Chuck
Lullaby-This and Choke are compleatly interchangable
Coke-My first read, after guts, but first novel
Survivor-Good, but just doesn't measure up to the greatness of his other books
Diary-My least favorite, but I only read it once, and I was very very tired when I read it, so I kept falling asleep, and so everything was even more jumbled, need to read it again
Haven't had the chance to read the non fiction yet. But I'm hell bent on reading them.

1) Fight Club
2)Diary
3)Survivor
4)Invisible Monsters
5)Lullaby
6)Haunted
7)Fugitives and Refugees
Numbers are for the order I read them:
2) Lullaby
3) Invisible Monsters
1) Survivor
5) Fight Club
6) Diary
4) Choke
7) Fugitives and Refugees
8) Stranger Than Fiction
I think Lullaby is one of my favorite books, period. I think it's ab-fab. It would be my choice to get a friend into reading Chuck, because most of my friends would like it most. After that, I heart Invisible Monsters. Everything else gets kinda stuck in the same area, well, except:
9) Haunted sucked.
1)Fight Club
2) Invisible Monsters
3)Diary
4)Survivor

7)Fugitives and Refugees
1. Survivor

I'm not a big fan of non-fiction.

how can you rank 2 books that haven't even been published yet ?
does anticipation outweigh previous quality and entertainment?
Survivor
Fight Club
Invisible Monsters
Choke
Lullaby
Haunted
Haunted might be last because I kept going back to the store for months waiting for it to come out in paperback, because I'm a cheap bastard, and finally I had a little extra money in my pocket so I sprung for the hardback. Went back a week later to find...that's right, the paperback edition came out. So already it's being held up to the hardback standard. Also, it was my 6th favorite. I think I just wanted to tell that story. Oh, Internet, what a good listener you are. sigh.
Survivor
Choke
Fight Club
Lullaby
Fugitives and Refugees
Diary
Stranger Than Fiction
Haunted
Invisible Monsters
I decided Invisible Monsters was actually dead last for me. I thought it was Haunted, but I actually like the short stories in Haunted, most of them. Invisible Monsters was a struggle to finish.

Yeah, I know it sounds wierd, but somehow I can. It's a gift I have. Just like I know that your next thread will be better and more sucessful than your last four.
I haven't read most of the books on that list anyways, so adding ones that aren't out yet wasn't too hard.

I have read:
Fight Club, Non Fiction, Choke and Diary. And I'm currently reading Haunted but ignoring the narration and reading the short stories.
Of the four I have read... I would place them in this order:
Fight Club
Diary
Non Fiction
Choke
So far I think haunted would be beneath Choke... I'm only on the third or fourth story... the one about the TV studio, but it's so boring.. the other stories so far were good though
invisible monsters (this was my first chuck book. i don't know if that had something to do with my choice or not but it is amazing and i would really like to see it made into a movie.
choke (easily his funniest book. great story line and it's the only one that i've read more than once)

Haven't yet read IM or his non-fiction.. I paused for a bit for different authors.
OK, I've just started reading Chuck's works, but here's my list so far:
1. Fight Club (movie);
2. Survivor; and
3. Haunted.
Next up? I'm probably going to read "Diary", "Choke" or "Invisible Monsters". Eventually, I'll get around to reading "Fight Club".
