Hello all,

I have run out of my fictional chuck books. Looking for similar content. Any suggestions?

I suggest that you go to the library.

the book club is a great place to start, browse through the older entries and also check out the monthly book reading thread in general discussion. most of us here have pretty similar tastes.

here's this month's thread: http://awriterscult.com/forum/1000029/its-oktoberfest-m%C3%BCnchen-and-i...

there are many great suggestions there, but like "child of god", just because youre a chuck fan doesnt necessarily mean youre made to love every book by every fan right off. if i'd read CoG right away after lullaby i doubt i'd have finished it. seriously. though it is a great book. just very different. that sort of thing..

many members over the years started branching with craig clevenger's "the contortionists' handbook" and later got into baer's trilogy. htat's even how i started. the move onto other things. HoL, for instance. BBE, particularly american psycho and less than zero. 25th hour is one i definitely approve of. later on start trying out cormac mccarthy and steve erickson. amy hempel is chuck's god. she's a fantastic short story writer. as is mark richard. also, jesus' son by denis johnson. j g ballard's crash and pugilist at rest by thom jones. demon theory by stephen graham jones. there are so many great reads out there. but i say start with clevenger'a first.
and welcome to the cult

We set up this amazon mini store exactly for this purpose. You'll find all sorts of stuff on it from similar authors, Chuck's favorites, Book Club Choices and more.

thanks alot for the advice everyone...I'll be lookin into those authors. I know that not all of Mr P's fans have taste that I will agree with, I just figured I'd be getting a better recomendation from people with similar interests than from say...my librarian suggesting the new Twilight series?

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome!

Hm, well have you ever read anything by Hubert Selby Jr.?
His most famous work is probably Requiem for a Dream and I highly suggest checking some books of his out if you haven't already.

I also agree with the two above, but go for Last Exit to Brooklyn first. Selby's first and in my opinion best
