Anyone have any sort of idea as to what this book is about?

It's probably a dumb question, but I really cannot find any information elsewhere online.

It's an early draft of Fight Club that Chuck wrote a long long time ago. ie never published. If you read the sections of Fight Club dealing with insomnia, chances are you've read the best parts of IYLHYBHA.

from what I've read about it, it sounds like he's mined all the parts of it out for use here or there in all his other books.

I've got 20 pages left in Stranger Than Fiction, having read all his novels except Diary, its so obvious where he got things from. I found some of them to be far more effective told as true stories.

How can it pop up on eBay if it hasn't been published...?

i think there's a thread on here somewhere where some guy was posting bits and pieces he said was from this, only it turned out to be a hoax or something. I dunno, it's been years since i remember seeing it. It might be gone by now. Seemed to stir up a lot of controversy when it was going on at the time though.

I remember that from way back before I joined. They had a whole chapter list and excerpts and stuff.

i'd like to find it again and re-read through that thing. But I got no idea what forum it was in and the search function is so terrible anymore AND we lost so many threads when we switched over that who knows if it even exists anymore.
Oh well, it's not really dead as long as we remember it and keep it alive in our hearts!
