Poem: "The Man Who's Seen Both Sides"
No one knows the pain
of the man who's seen both sides,
the glory and the splendor,
the evil and the lies.
Beneath his mask of silence,
behind his tranquil eyes,
stands a spirit shattered--
he's fallen from the skies.
He flew too high and far.
His success was his demise.
Now up from his ashes,
this phoenix must arise.
Blood may one day trickle from the young man's heart once more,
and another fleeting love may walk right out the door,
but no matter what tears well up in his saturated eyes,
gone forever is the pain of the man who's seen both sides.

What a rockin poem. Is it a sonnet? It looks like a Shakespearian sonnet. Cool, dude.

Ah, I counted. It's got 16 lines. Never mind.

im really not sure what it is. i wrote it years ago when i was much more knowlegable on the technical aspects of poetry. it was a variation on a traditional form...the first twelve lines were normal and then i took the liberty of adding the last four which deviated from the form. but thanks!
I dislike poetry, especially poetry from random Internet people, but I actually really like this.
