Fanart on Inivisible Monsters. So far it's my absolute favorite book by Chuck. Love it.

This is the second piece of art you've posted right?

I really like your style.

I'm not very good at "appreciating" art. A while ago we had a thread about that in General Discussion.

I just kind of look at art and think, "Would I hang that in my house?" That one, the eyes were creepy, but for some reason I really liked it. I could see myself hanging it up.

I also like Slipping Away.

Did you post them in the order they were painted? Because it seems like a progression in style and technique.

I'm very flattered! Smile Big

My art is kind of creepy in general, I think.
My older relatives always want to buy paintings from me, but once they see them they always seem a little uncomfortable and if they ever buy anything it's ALWAYS just the ones with flowers or some other boring crap that I've only painted because I'm bored and out of ideas. XD

I usually post them right after I've finished them, but some I started painting/drawing years ago but never finished till later. "Slipping away" is almost 1 year old but I didn't finish it till now.
I'm glad you can see my improvements!

Creepy is good!

My coffee table book used to be a picture book of death scenes from like the 50's and 60's. It has a whole section of hangings. Everybody always thought it was weird. But everybody also always looked at it. And it was a conversation starter.

It's definitely on my to do list.

Great art by the way...most of it is water color and ink right? Have you worked with any other mediums?

Thank you ^^
I do a lot of acrylics too, but watercolor and ink is much more handy. If you leave the colors and brushes without cleaning them it doesn't get all dry or useless like it would with acrylics or oil.
I tend to paint for maybe 20 min or so then do something else for a while, then keep painting for 20 min and so on, so it works much better that way. But I wish I'd do more acrylics and oil.

Yeah I was gonna say you'd love using acrylics. I started with water colors a while back and haven't used water colors in a while . I'm in love with acrylics because of how flexible and versitile they can be. I agree the clean up is a little harder but there are ways to keep the left over paint fresh. I really think you've honed your water color skills and sometimes It's best to stick with what you feel more comfortable with. Keep is updated with your new pieces. We have a bunch of art/sketch threads floating around or feel free to start your own.

Acrylics are very nice to paint with.
How do you keep the left over paint fresh?
By the way, can I see your art somewhere? Smile
Maybe I will!

There are a few ways to keep the paint fresh. Saran wrap works wonders or you could use ziploc bags. If you use saran wrap you have to completely seal the paint so there is no air in between the wrap and paint. For Ziploc bags you can lightly spray the paint with water and put it in the bag. Too ensure both these methods work you need to put the paints in the refrigerator.

Here are a few of the threads with my art that I could find and other art threads that you might be interested in.

and this is a blog just so i can try to keep up to date with my sketches and paintings. I don't update it as regularly as I like and I have several better works of art that for some reason I haven't added yet. I haven't honed my style yet but I'm getting there.
