What music do chuck's fans listen to?
Personally im into metal for the most part, but i listen to a range of rock... pink floyd to slipknot. currently my favourite artists/bands are mudvayne, slipknot, korn, marilyn manson, and system of a down. all sing songs on themes that in one way or another can be related to some themes foun in palahniuk's books.
what are you into?
I'm waiting for you. With butterflies.
Mainly the heavy/alt stuff. Tool, Alice in Chains, Toadies, etc. Lately it's been System of a Down's new album, Gorillaz, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Hmm....
Industrial, Old Punk, Metal (Death, Black, Grind, ect.) New Wave/80's music, psychobilly, rocakabilly,
other stuff like: Warren Zevon, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Tori Amos, Mojo Nixon, Wesley Willis ect.
---I know, it seems a bit contradicting

Well, I prefer the term angst rock, but yes, it's "nu metal". It's not metal. For several reasons. Look at it this way. If I listened to BAND X, and I claimed they were jazz to a bunch of people who are all totally into jazz, and they tell me that they, nor any other jazzheads, consider BAND X jazz in the slightest, at that point I don't think I'd be fit to argue. If you walked into a room full of metalheads and told them that Mudvayne, Slipknot, etc, were metal bands, they would all dismiss you (probably rather callously too) because they aren't metal bands. They scream and moan, they play simple, repetitive riffs, the drumming is very beat oriented as opposed to the very fill oriented style of metal, they have 9 members, 5 of which they could do without. They wear masks, they have dumb album covers, they have angsty song titles and lyrics. I could go on and on, but quite simply, these bands aren't metal. Perhaps in some commercial "I've never been exposed to real metal" way these bands are metal, but just because MTV classifies them as such doesn't make MTV right.

When my wife and I were in New Orleans the first time we decided to go see where Ann Rice and Trent Reznor live. The addresses were in Idiots Guide to New Orleans, strangely enough. For all I know, though, we could've been in the completely wrong neighborhood (nice houses, tho).
was the trent house a strange shade of light purple?

If it was purple, it must've been subtle, 'cause I don't remember. It was twilight and there are a lot of trees, so... I'd check my pictures, but that was the trip when I left my camera in the motel.
I (as usual) am paralleling insomnomaniac in that I''ve got very widespread taste, though my choices differ from hers significantly. Lets just say I'm eclectic.

Well, I can tell this is going to set me apart from most of the people here, but I listen to a lot of country. I lived on a farm for all but 5 of my 20 years though, and I hail from a place who's claim to fame is being the "Moonshine Capital of the World" (we've even got t-shirts, that makes it law), so it shouldn't be a big surprise. Mostly, however, I listen to mellow tunes like Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Pat McGee Band, Radiohead, and lots of other random artists like Sublime, Beck, Pink Floyd. I've taken a liking to the piano lately, though, Ben Folds is great, a little REM sometimes.
I'll build heaven and call it home...
i will be the first to stand up and say that there is nothing wrong with country. personally i love "much to young to be this damn old" by garth, and you can't knock johnny cash. i don't care who you are.
even if there were something wrong with country, you like what you like, you know?
