my name is pluto caveat

1. the nakedness of it all - i wouldn't say i identify with anything he's done, but i've gained an understanding into something i rarely delve into - the dregs of human nature
2. indifferent, their used appropriately and spark a reaction - meh, you want grotesque, try lurking the internet for four hours
3. no, not really. if anything, it's disturbing to think it's all fiction
4. they've yet to evolve - it's not the amount of lurid material in chuck's books that gets a lot of people off. it's the fact their even explored. by the end of any of his novels, you're left wondering - why the hell aren't these topics explored more often - isn't the terrible, the horrific, the graphic, the immoral simply an opposing side of a scale
5. he see's the worst in people yet still has faith in enlightenment
6. no, it's an illusion. though i'd have to say he'd have a moderate interest in said topics -it wouldn't impact his daily life
7. if i were a fool, i'd distrust a sh*tload more previous to a reading. i found new reasons to live after fight club - if i ever f*cked up, i could always blame it on my deadly, dangerous, schizophrenic counterpart
8. a disabled libertine told me about the splendorous 'choke' over the phone
9. 'survivor' - it's written better than any of his other work, and the subject matter wasn't dull

have a nice day.

My name is Hiny Rugburn.

1. what interests you in Palahniuks' work as an author?

I like the way he just takes stories other people have told him and just writes them out for himself. it seems like an easy way to make a living.

2. How do you feel about the sexual, grotesque, violent descriptions/details in his works? Do you find that your somewhat interested or curious to read about these ideas in his writing?

I like learning all the new hip terms for things. Before reading his books i only knew about doggy-style and 69.

3. Does anything disturb you while reading his books? (the more specific the better)

Many things disturb me while reading his books. Phone calls, Tornado sirens, Police Helicopters. Once i was disturbed by a Jehovah's Witness knocking on the door. But eventually, i got back and finished each book.

4. Why do you think people would advocate against books that Palahniuk publishes?

people should advocate against books he publishes because badly written shock novels rushed out yearly to meet contractual obligations are never good.

5. What do you know about Palahniuks personal life?

I know he owns a dog. and he's a gay.

6. Does anything in the books that you have read by Palahniuk lead you to believe that he is at all sadistic, overly judgmental towards religion, society or government? any examples brief or not?

I think he's a lot like that Unabomber dude. He's just found a way to get that stuff out in a way to make a living off it instead of living in hiding in the mountains.

7. Has reading his any of his novels changed the way you view anything in society that he brings up in his works?

Not really. Anything really profound in his stuff I already believed in before reading it in his books.

8. Who introduced you to Palahniuks' work?

Brad Pitt, Ed Norton, David Fincher.

9. What is your favorite published book that you have read so far and why?

Moby-Dick. Greatest Novel written in the English Language ever.
