My strawberries are coming in nicely
The strawberries Chuck gave me with his letter are coming in nicely. They're some strong little bastards, germination was supposed to take a month, they did it in two weeks. Anybody else plant Chuck's seeds? I have some other flower seeds and some carrot seeds also but I'm saving them.
oh I forgot about mine too! I got my parcel just before I moved home.
I got the strawberries and forget-me-nots...must get them growing. Although there is no sun in England at the mo so I might wait.
So you know, you should plant peppers. Everyone should.
I just planted the carots, forget me nots, herb garden and asters that he sent.
Carrots:

The rest:

The three big grey pots are Chucks seeds....the copper planters behind them are all peppers, the red clay pot is Rosemary.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Since I don't really have a garden, and I like having that little strawberry pot in my room, I'm going to plant some forget-me-not seeds in that little pot once the strawberry's are big enough to go outside.
So you know, you should plant peppers. Everyone should.
I've got peppers going. Super Cayan II, Hot Thai, Sweet Banana, Tobasco,... and a couple others...I forgot, but I stuck their little greenhouse signs in next to them.
Did Chuck send everyone seeds? Is anyone else planting them? I think I remember Barca Boy saying he planted some.......
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I need to get mine out and plant them. Not sure whether it is already too late in Houston to plant things though.
I put them away and forgot to get them back out when I planted the butterfuly garden.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Wow, everything is sprouting already!
I covered the planters with thin plastic to make a mini greenhouse, and to keep that bastard Elvis from digging in them...

Anyone else plant Chucks seeds?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I've had trouble with seeds not taking root before the flash floods hit this area. And with the highs in the 90s now I am not sure it is a good time to try to start anything. There is a small window for planing anything here.
I am working on converting the broken pond into another butterfly garden tough. Right now, we're filling it in and waiting on some dirt.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
my forgetmenots are germinating very nicely in the ziplock bag......once their a couple inches i'll plant them.
Mine are dead (forget-me-nots) or slowly dying (money plant).
I used to have cactus few years ago and it also didn't make it.
Call me plant killer.

My forget me nots failed but Im going to try some of the other seeds next week, I had completely forgotten them.

I, like Storm47, got Forget-Me-Nots and the money trees.
My Forget-Me-Nots sprouted immediately but still haven't flowered; same with the others. I promised him at the reading that I'd laminate a blossom and send it to him when his next mail window opens, which amused him - I hope I can carry through on that!
I think everyone got Forget-Me-Nots - there is, after all, a reference to them early in RANT. Same with the glow-in-the-dark stars (I laughed as I read everything, because suddenly that huge package he sent me started to make more sense!), which are now all over my ceiling.
i want some of the seeds to. but does chuck himself send them personally? or do one of his personalists?
i want some of the seeds to. but does chuck himself send them personally? or do one of his personalists?
Chuck included seeds in all his fan mail responses. Just keep an eye open for the next window(which could be a couple years, he's still responding to the last one.), or maybe you can sweet talk some from someone that isn't going to plant them.
They are doing good out there.....

I'd like monthly updates on these. And bring them into your bedroom during the winter. Feed them manurer, and fashion a carrot belt to put on a mannequin, and I say mannequin because it's too damn hard keeping a carrot belt on a cat.

Those herbs look like basil.
The only thing missing in your garden is tomato plants.
There is a bunch of basil, but there's 1/2 dozen other herbs in the mix.
Tomato plants failed miserably on the roof. Way too much heat and direct sun. I gave 'em one season and found others that can withstand the burn of the tar/rock roof. This season it's 2/3 peppers and the rest herbs, snapdragons, morning glories, salvia, clover and some pansies that seeded them selves last season.

I should make you a flip book. But something that isn't your standard slideshow, more like a puppet on a ferris wheel.
I got a little pot with a dirt cylinder and forgetmenot seeds that died. I have yet to plant the package of forgetmenots and the package of money plant seeds.
I grow tomatoes in my backyard, I should take a picture and post it...

I'll give it a whirl Dr.Jekyll&Mr.Hyde. I've taken most of them from the same approximate position.....I'll run em through my gif animator thingy when they're all done.
But, I'd love to see what comes out of your laboratory!

The chuckstuff is doing great, growing an inch or two a day.
I decided not to thin the carrots. They're planted properly spaced on the inside of the bush for maximum growth, but tight packed around the edges. The compression should make some mutants.

Making a Ferris wheel out of grass dipped in wax, twigs, fish line, yarn, sticky tape, acrylics, assorted buttons and tin scraps doesn't hold together as well as you'd think. Hack collages work occasionally. And this whole process isn't complete until we see your hand holding a carrot.

I've missed you Doc/Mr.H......your laBORatory seems to still be functioning. . Nice work indeed. I'll keep feeding the raw material to it if you'll be kind enough to keep doing whatever it is you did with it.

Nah, it’s a long shot short. That frog resembles my grandfather or one of the many genealogical survivors of the Nosocomial Staphylococcus outbreak of 1700 something. You? I say come over for barbecued black burnt corn and some local beer brewing that’s as local as a functional caravan. I reckon the corn tastes better despite leaving the perimeter of your mouth charcoaled. So, all that’s left to question is your next project, that is, whether you make a scarecrow for the corn or weave white netting for the blueberry bushes.

The dwarf cried giant tears. You ready for a care package? Send a map please.
Today I'm cutting down the Chuck-Basil and putting it on drying racks. It has overgrown the other chuck-herbs and I think that's enough basil for the winter.

I'm glad your carrots grew up and were nice and tasty.
Those are mean looking carrots. That’s genuine farmer’s roughage. I’d expect to find those on the hills of New Hampshire, after many years of turning soil. There’s even a snarled and battered heart. Bravo.
