“Need Quotes,” Chuck says.

2 tickets to Chuck in Van-Nov30th Msg for info

I'm not sure if this is within forum policy or not, so please inform me if it isn't.
I have 2 tickets to Chuck's tour date in Vancouver on the 30th of this month. Something has come up and I am now unable to attend this event. I should also mention that these are the "Meet and Greet" tickets, so you will meet Chuck and have the opportunity to get two books signed(including Damned, which you will receive a free signed copy of upon arrival). If you are interested, message me for further details.
Two tickets!!

Thanks!

Hmmmm.....

Usually by now an interviewer has asked Chuck what his next novel will be... But nothing yet. Anyone heard anything?

"Romance" by Chuck Palahniuk

Has anyone read the new short story "Romance" by CP?

It came out in this month's Playboy (August 2011).

I found it interesting because:

-it did NOT start out with action

-the whole story was told in retrospect

I liked the story a lot, but not my favorite short story by CP. That would be "Mister Elegant".

I found "Romance" very funny and I assume that the piece was intentionally written as comedy. Unlike most of CP's fiction, it didn't have any moments of sincerity that made the reader feel empathy or sympathy for the narrator.

Thoughts?

Who is your favorite Character??

I though this would go better in author than anything but if it has to go in other section, so be it, so:

¿who is your favorite Chuck Palahniuk character? in my case i think it would be between the narrator from the novel Fight Club and Shannon Mcfarlann from Invisible Monsters

(sorry if there was already a thread like this one, couldn't find it if there was)

What would be the worst???... (Spoilers)

I'm not sure if it goes in here so sorry if i put it wrong.

In his early novels at least, chuck is known for the "transgressive fiction" of them, i personally love it, and a great part of the charm is how quirky or bizarre yet realist the violence is, and now that i think about it, i kinda wanna know...
¿What is the worst criminal act commited in each of his novels?

From the ones i read (Fight Club and Survivor) and the one i'm reading (Invisible monsters) it would be:

Fight Club: Tyler Murders people, gives marla a black eye
Survivor: Tender Branson assist suicide (Convinces people to kill themselves)and hijacks a plane
Invisible monsters: Shannon gives hormones to seth, she and brandy steal drugs from houses.

¿So what are (according to you) the worst crimes?.

(it's not neccesarily the felony that is most punished, but the one you think is morally or otherwise more wrong)

Contact to Mr. Palahniuk

Hi forum,
is it possible to contact Mr. Palahniuk ?

Subject is a possible radio drama regarding his novel "Diary".
Perhaps Mr. Palahniuk would be kind enough to let a private
person have a reply.
Kind regards

Did Chuck really say this? If so, where?

Someone posted this quote on Facebook and attributed it to Chuck. I've searched trying to find the source and am only finding the quote over and over again (damn you, Tumblr!) with no actual attribution to where it comes from.

Quote:
"That's the best revenge of all: happiness. Nothing drives people crazier than seeing someone have a good fucking life."

Was that really Chuck? When/where did he say/write it? Is it in one of his later books?

Thanks for any help!

whose read chuck books in different languages ?

phil, maybe--like in portuguese ? anyone else? can you offer if the reads are roughly the same experience or are they completely different?

im just curious but not curious enough to learn french to read the books that way for myself ;D
