was married with children? I wrote a term paper on FC and could swear I read this somewhere

(I just found out from the below thread that Chuck is gay.)

Guess, I didnt do such a good job on my term paper leaving out the now obvious homoerotica.

btw, this in no way effects my love of Chuck's literature.

I don't know about children, but you read somewhere that Chuck was married.

You could have, in fact, read that here at his official website at one time.

You might call that confusing, I call it quality compression. I want to read the term paper now.

What makes you think I heard it hear?

I just thought that their might have been some misinformation or maybe a joke previously published about Chuck being married with Kids, and if such a publication was published, I figured the Cult would know of it!

What I said was, "You could have, in fact, read that here at his official website at one time", because that was how this site mentioned his personal life (in the FAQ, iirc.) Chuck was closted. His official bio described him as "married to his wife of the last eleven years". Which is why you could have read it here. And when you read the article you linked, you can get a pretty good idea as to why he was closeted; there's the Literature section in many book stores, and then there's the Gay Literature section.* No one wants to live in a ghetto.

* except in the many many stores which purposefully carry no books at all by authors who are gay.

Yeah. Our Wal-Marts don't really have book sections though. They just have an aisle with scattered books everywhere.
Do you have Wal*Marts in Canada?
yes, we have those here.

The big box book stores (Chapters, Coles, Indigo) do not ban gay authors (Chapters is where I found Fight Club and Naked Lunch, amongst other things).

Does Wallymart really intentionally not have books by gay authors? Or is it just because all they sell is crappy books? Sometimes I think about boycotting that place, but I prostitute myself for cheap shit, like it's a cheap place to buy toys and stuff.

It could be fun to get some used copies of gay authors and plant them in Wallymart. It's always like culture shock when I go in there, though, scary. But if I were someone who was stocking up for a rampage, it would definitely be my first choice play to buy weapons.

Wal*Mart, while selling books by gay authors, very pointedly does not sell Gay Literature*, which brings us back to the point of Chuck not wanting to be outed at least until he was more firmly established in his genre.

Chapters, Coles, and Indigo are not companies with which I am familiar. "Big box stores" sell appliances and produce and clothing and everything else they can think of that a small-town community might want.

*Wal*Mart doesn't sell Playboy because pornography goes against the corporation's Christian Value System. Exploiting workers, however, apparently does not.

For many people in small-town Middle America, Wal*Mart _is_ their only shopping option barring online sales, and the majority of the population (last time I checked statistics - this may have changed) is still without a home computer. Wal*Mart, in choosing to censor some items and refusing to stock others, _does_ retain some control over what their vassalry (customers) watch, read, and listen to (not to mention eat and wear.)
Don't buy guns at Wal*Mart. If you must buy a gun, buy it from a place that actually supports your second amendment rights (or whatever law says you can have a gun in Canada). Wal*Mart is just after a fast buck on this one.
Gun ownership is not a right in Canada.

Several liscenses are needed to both posess and purchase rifles and shotguns.

Its much harder to buy handguns (legally that is), and automatic weapons and explosives are totally banned. Gunpowder can be bought, but only for relaoding bullets, and you need to have a liscense to buy the gunpowder.

Owners are required to register their guns so that if, for example, they're stolen and used in a crime, its partially the owner's fault for not properly locking up his weapons.
