Chuck's wikipedia wrong?
I'm doing a project on Chuck and Choke and for the project i looked at his wikipedia for some of his life information. the thing that confused me though was that it said that chuck was gay. i was about to use this as part of the information about him when i figured i would double check that the information was real and not just some guy having his fun. (i actually wanted to prove a friend wrong about it too haha) so i searched around here and found http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/community/showthread.php?t=1365 this thread saying that he's had a wife for 8 years. now i dont know whether to believe anything on the wikipedia. can you guys clear this up for me/ maybe recommend somewhere else to find some information on him?
ps. here's a quote from the article
I didn't know the details.
Haha, stupid writers.

well if its right how could he have a wife?
is the other forum wrong?
The wikipedia information is correct.
Yep.
Yeah, Chuck Palahniuk is gay.
(Jane I know you just said it but for some reason it feels good to write this out. Like, yeah, he might be rich and famous and a kick-ass writer and funny and really, really cool and everything I ever wanted to be except for the fact that he's gay. So yeah, I'm still cool.)
EDIT: Oh man I'm a slow poster. This was supposed to appear right after jane's post but now it has lost all it's unbelievable hilarity...
well if its right how could he have a wife?

The information was misinterpreted. Palahniuk has a partner whom he's been living with for about 10 (?) years. Before he was openly gay to his readers, everyone started saying he had a "wife" and the myth was born. Even the site, at one point, said that Chuck lived with his wife in Portland.
There is hope, but not for us.
Someone should start a thread "Who do you think might Chuck's boyfriend be" (and not get banned).
thanks guys

So did the bio in his books from 3 years ago.

Chuck Palahniuk did in fact post audio recordings in this site in 2003 admitting he was a homosexual, and he discusses it in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine dating from July 2005.
Honestly I do not see why people really give a shit. All Chuck Palahniuk has done to us is write great novels and non-fiction that bring up endless discussions, and lets everyone have a fun time. It is his personal life, not ours.
its not because i care about his personal/sexual life, i told you, im just doing a project on him

Sorry dude, I was not talking about you personally, I was just talking about the media attention that arose when the news came out. I was reading these forums back in 2003 when Chuck admitted his homosexuality, and there was a whole topic posted about it. Luckily, the Web master came to his senses and deleted the whole thing.
The funny thing is that either most people don't know, or girls think they can win him back to our team. They giggle and drool all over him at readings, and it cracks me up!

Back to our team? That seems like a strange/wrong thing to say.
Yeah, our, like, the heterosexual team.

Agreed. A while ago Dennis posted this magazine Stirrings Still which was devoted to Palahniuk. The first article was in the begin a lot about him being gay. Then I quit reading. It was lame.
Sanity, the ultimate insanity.
Can't a dude be his wife? Like some men are bitches to other men in penitentiary? I mean, not so say the other dude is Chuck's bitch, but.. ah you know, they're happy.

Is his sexual orientation in any way relevent to the project? If so, why?
Personally, I think any gay man that can write a straight sex scene that well deserves to be admired.
I can't think of any straight men who could write a gay sex scene with that kind of detail and "flow"...(takers?)
Is his sexual orientation in any way relevent to the project? If so, why?
People looooooove to make a big deal about sexual orientation, activity, etc. What else would we talk about? I wouldn't get the joy of seeing friends from high school and having them ask me if I'm "gay yet."
There is hope, but not for us.

As long as you don't get zapped with the Homotron 9000, you're in the clear.
well the fact hes gay, is not gonna make me read his books any different. There still great novels, and he's still my favorite writer, so yah your right, this should not be made a big deal..

The wikipedia information is correct.
