Hey Everyone,

I just want to say that Autumn has pledged to cover the remainder of the amount [b]if no one else comes forward[/b]. He said something in his email to me that I want to relay here because its right on target and conveys what we're trying to accomplish with this gift. Basically, he said that this book is probably still going to mean something to Chuck in 15 years and that that means more to him than $40 bucks right now.

And you know what, he's right. That book is going to be made to last and I think Chuck will keep it around and leaf through it occasionally. If anyone has ever seen Chuck at a reading, you [b]know[/b] that man not only knows how to tell a story, he loves to hear a good story. How cool, that his fans are not all obsessed geeks as the media likes to portray us. We have shitloads of good stories ourselves. We have the time and motivation to collect those stories and present them to Chuck to thank him for being so generous with his fans. He'll spend hours signing books, he answers all his fanmail personally (yeah, I know thats on hold) and he's just dedicated [b]a year[/b] to this site in the form of an online [url=http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/community/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=44]writer's workshop[/url].

So, I'd like this to be a bigger community effort rather than just 5 or 6 people paying for the cost of the book. I absolutely appreciate their generosity but what I'd like to do is refund some money to the people that contributed larger amounts. (Nightrous at $100 and Autumn at $40) [b]Can we get maybe 10 more people to send $5 or $10 bucks or whatever you can afford[/b]?

no problem, glad I could help out with this sentimental project. So how do we sign this thing? i'm a little confused on that part. Do we use our cyber pens? One time I was drunk and I got so pissed at someone over at spawn.com that I tried to punch his screen name and almost broke my hand on my monitor. Sorry for the confusion. No, the book is not being signed. All the contributors were given an opportunity to write a short note to be included at the end of the book. That ended last week. the book is being made now and it takes a few weeks.

You can buy a money order at a post office if you live in the US. You fill out the money order with the recipient's name and address, your name and address, tear off your reciept and then stick it in an envelope. Yep, its that easy:p
