Chuck's Birthday Book.
1. The book, itself: Status?
2. Possible downloadable PDF version of the book's contents: Status?
3. Copy of book, possibly purchasable by Cult members: Status?
Seeing as I'm apparently not allowed to care, myself, I'm asking for other concerned parties who are aware that today is apparently Chuck's birthday and that there hasn't been an update in what has felt like a long time on what some people had maybe mistakenly assumed was supposed to be something by the Cult, from the Cult, as opposed to being one person's endeavour, alone.
Yeah, neither do I, but thanks for the update.
Somebody'll appreciate it.

Right, "that's where we will house the PDF file as well as picture's of the book and a short synposis of how the book came into being and links to the various threads regarding it."
Sorry I can't give you an exact date yet.
"The page cannot be found
...I'm sorry, but that's funny.
Not that it's not up yet, but that he had to ask.
Or maybe it was just a bad link?
Idiot.

Hahahahahaha.
Patience, my children... Patience...
I thought of you today Tuffy, while going to my car after grocery shopping, I saw this daddy RACING towards his car with his little girl screaming with delight. She was in one of those dump truck carts for tots. It was priceless. I can just see you doing that with little girl... so sweet.
1. The book, itself: Status?
In Dennis's hands - possibly on its way to Chuck as we speak!!!
2. Possible downloadable PDF version of the book's contents: Status?
Coming soon.
3. Copy of book, possibly purchasable by Cult members: Status?
Is there any real interest in this? It's doable if people are actually interested. The question is "How much would people be willing to pay for a hardcover version of The Book?" If enough people are interested, we can get the price down quite a bit.

I'm interested. I'd be willing to spend in the range of $50-100. Would your bookbinder friend possibly work with me in my price range?
Interested.
Name your price.
Eric can do pretty-much anything that might be requested; we can get clothbound books for as low as $30, and we can get as fancy as we want (with a corresponding price elevation.) You want it bound in ostrich? Doable; be prepared to shell out the long green.
Would people be interested in having two price ranges - a $50 - 100 version and a $20 - 30 version?
I want an utterly unique version. Sorry to be a pain in the ass

Oh, hahahahahaha

Then you will have to contact a bindery on your own - I'll put you in touch with Eric if you want, but I'm sure there are some closer to you.
I'm just not going to act as an intermediary taking individual orders for copies - it gets too complex too quickly. I guess if we do the two price thing, and you want a copy of that, you'll be one of very few who get one, making it about as unique as you can get.

That sounds good to me. I'd prefer to give Eric the business.
I'd go with one of those huge wizard-style tomes, with half-inch-thick embossed cardboard, big round spine, guilded metal on the corners, intricate designs everywhere, old red leather colouration [worn copper metal], a big latch to hold it closed and a fine red ribbon cut at the end in a ^ to hold my place.
And everything printed in a colour that looks like dried blood, with plenty of room for me to doodle around the text.
Kind of paper that looks old and worn at the edges, with fibers showing.
A blank book like that would be best. I could write "An Eagle's Tale: To Hell With You and Back Again".
Hmmm...
Too much of a rip-off title, I know, but it'd suit the medium.
There is no cardboard used in these books.
I didn't mean the corrugated stuff. I meant the stuff that's like many sheats of brown paper, glued tightly together, when you wear at the edges to take the sheat covering off.
Is it not that either?
I'm just dreaming, anyway.
Oh, he could make you what you ask for. He mostly repairs family bibles from the 1700's and restores them to the original state. You want hair still on that otterskin? What kind of blood do you want for the ink? Anything's available for a price.
Wow.
But no, I'm not liable to get any such book. It'd sit, untouched. I would be too afraid to ruin something that has so much potential. -_-
I love the idea of people bringing these books to readings and getting them signed. I'm going to
Tuffy are you ignoring me?
I would have loved to have a book, but...
As for the Bible restorations, I have two that I would love to have done. What does he charge, or can you put me in touch with him and i will ask myself. Does he have a website?
Tuffy are you ignoring me?
Was there a question here that I massed and didn't answer?
He does not have a website; he barely uses email. I can put you in touch with him if you like. I imagine he would have to see your books before he can give you a quote.
Oh do you mean about thinking of me? That was very nice.
Thank you. There were others but I am probably just being overly paranoid and sensitive.
I have to admit, I haven't seen this thread before now and let me just say "LOL! fuckin' brilliant!" Just out of curiousity, was this project a surprise for Chuck or was he aware of the website giving him this book?
Has anything like this been done before on other forums does anyone know? Strikes me as a really inspired idea to gather these posts and give them as a birthday present.
Anyway, I want one to, I would definately sign up for a copy in the higher price range, but if more people would prefer the less expensive route that's fine also. This is a veritable treasure trove of transgressive anecdotes, that I'd love to have on my shelf.
Just a few suggestions, maybe let Chuck have the only hardbound deluxe size and work up a smaller hardback,(or paperback) for cult members to order. A DVD and a book released via this website within a year, i think that's something astounding for any community.
Maybe, just maybe, sweet talk our favorite author to scribble out a little introduction to it?
Well, I've been a member here for awhile, but only recently started to really delve into everything this site has to offer, I'm hoping to get some things finished and start participating in the writer's workshop also, so we'll see.
Keep up the great work and let's see this collection available to all cultists.
Until we meet again,
Karb!
It was originally intended for all Cultists but then there were some exculsions. I think, however, the book is now available for all to see. I would post the thread but I forget... maybe it is in news. And there is something on the homepage as well, with a picture.

Mirka! did you ever do this?

Tuffy mailed the book the book to Dennis who will in turn mail it to Chuck. Chuck is in San Francisco and Dennis is waiting to hear where to mail it as Chuck has more than one residence.

Both I and SnowWhite have stated over and over that we are only making one book and its for Chuck. If people want to make their own books they can download the PDF file and make a book or make their own arrangements to have one made.
As for the rest, I don't appreciate your tone or your insinuations.
