Chuck Palahniuk Short Stories (needed)
Ok so I am obsessed with obtaining everything that Chuck has written...
We are fortunate that he released "Stranger Than Fiction" since that pretty much collected all of his nonfiction.
However, I have come to discover that he has several short stories.
I know that "Mister Elegant" was recently published in Vice magazine.
And "The Love Theme Of Sybil And William" and "Negative Reinforcement" are available on this website's grab bag.
So what I want to know is what else is out there? He is reading "Love Nest" and "Cold Calling" for his Rant tour. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of these?
But more importantly, what else is out there?
Help!
Thanks guys.
Firslty, it's stories.
Secondly, go about contacting Jeff Sartain. He'd most definately be the best person to go to help you, or failing that try Chuck's agent. Give Dennis a PM, see if he can help you find Jeff. Good luck.
Third, and lastly, obsessions are unhealthy. Chuck's just a normal guy with talent and a well-trained pen. Don't get too caught up thinking he's God now.
dude...

He wrote something about rescue dogs for a dog-related anthology once, but I'm blanking on the particulars.

KAAAAAABBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG in my head

Actually, it sounds more like "cable"
like Kay-Bole
man, i cant remember the name of that anthology.. Dog Culture, I'm almost possitive. has a rusty brown colored cover. lotta short stories about dogs. I used to own it, but sold it along with pursuit of happiness a few years ago to pay for my internet and electricity.

don't ruin it for me, bro - to me it'll always be KABOWL, which in turn becomes KABONG - lol, don't ask me why - that paired with the batman avatar is a guaranteed good time

You do sound a little obsessed. I read somewhere that Chuck didnt want Cold Calling published and saves it for his own readings. But good luck with the rest of your hunting.
Thanks for the feedback.
Most of the stories mentioned above are nonfiction and are included in Stranger Than Fiction. Nevertheless, thanks for the information and reply.
Now I just said I am obsessed with wanting to own a copy of every short, don't think I'm some psycho fan. I didn't almost start crying when I met him at the last reading like the person in front of me did...
Anyways, so yes, thanks to that biblography link from Wickerrat it appears that Love Nest and Cold Calling are the only stories not available in print. And if he never releases them, so be it, at least I heard him read them (but I would still love to own a copy of them -word file or what not).
well, cp also said at his chicago reading last year that mr. elegant would never be published, and it came out in two publications, so there's always a chance
i'm actually surprised he doesn't have more short fiction out there, for the length of time he's been publishing

I don't know what thread to put this in but this was the closest to the top so it goes here
someone should ask Chuck at one of these readings why he's got a 150 dollar limited edition out but no hardback for Invisible Monsters yet!!
oh goodness, here we go..
just playin.. i too would like to see im in hardcover. just to put on my shelf. who knows, perhaps sooner than later. but i doubt it. ashes.

Dont forget the thrillingly fun read Fugitives And Refugees
i remember he had two short stories from the 90's--from a magazine called Story, one in the spring of 1996 and the other being in the spring of 1997, of which he was paid $50 for each published, both of which are on amazon right now ranging between $58 and $175.13--and they may even be on this site tucked away somewhere, but i have no earthly idea how to find them.
most of his other work--like the interview with marilyn manson and the one with juliet lewis--as you know are collected in stranger than fiction. but man, their everywhere. there was an article in Red Book (I think) back several years ago in which he was dressed as a dalmatian. the fact is, the man is all over. good luck with your search..
also, a few off the top of my head.. there was a dog story reminiscent of his love for jack london in a book called Dog Love (I think) and another story in a collection titled The Pursuit of Happiness
..yeah, good luck with your search
