Chuck... Gay?
I was the only one that didn't notice his yellow shoes when he entered the theatre in Boston. Some of my friends didn't recognize him, I was like, "Dude, The Palahniuk just walked by", they were like, "that guy with the yellow shoes was him?"
I first discovered I was gay when I was taking a dump. When I went to go wipe myself, my finger ripped through the wadded up, shit stained, toilet paper. My finger went and wedged itself up my anus as if a sign from god. At first I was not sure what this sensation was. Warm, soft, mushy, and damn did it feel good. So I started wiggling it around and... lets just say I was in the bathroom for the next half hour.
Two days after I came out to my parents and my friends. A buddy of mine told me that if you are gay you HAVE to register at ChuckPalahniuk.net. He told me that if you are a registered user, it automatically makes you gay. That's why I registered. Anyone else?
I'm so pissed that youtube has banned all use of the "Stewie's Annoying laugh" clip from Family Guy. It was to be my greatest weapon at times like this...
Ah well, we'll have to rely on YTMND for results. Loses some punch when you have to click a link though. Sigh.

Were the All Dancing, All Singing Crap of the world
I heard a rumor that Chuck has written several books... Can somebody confirm this for me?
In this league, sportsmanship is for old liberals and young fools.
If his partner is a baker, why isn't he fatter? I might want to fuck him then.
Zoobot is a chubby chaser?

Don't want to appear fattist but wheres the sport?
There are no pacts between lions and men.
Thats just what you call people who like their partners... portly. There isn't much of a sport in chasing chubbies, I guess.

I heard he's black.
"So, uh, after the show, we're going to have a moustache-camaro contest, that's a moustache-camaro contest in the back, so all you young boys with too much energy can show up back there. I'm going to be honest with you, ok? I think, uh, this entire world revolves around honesty and taking risks so I'm just going to go ahead and do that. It were raining someplace and you were there, I wouldn't pay money to come and see you."

yeah, as you say who gives a fuck, but just for the record i think he prob is...god what a weird way to spend my time....discusing the sexuality of someone ive never met. haha.
Will this thread ever die, or is Chuck's sensational sexuality just too...irresistible?
"Society exists only as a mental concept; in the real world there are only individuals." --Oscar Wilde
Im new here too.. But i think a social experiment is in need to resolve this issue... We need to come together and find the hottest man-meat as well as a Sweet Sexy momma and see if we can stick them all in a room somewhere. The first one to cop-a-feelski gets a medal and we all get the truth!
Evil Genius?
perhaps....
serious? gay? i'm suprised. but its ok.
he own his private life.
he's a great author. i dont care if he's gay.
Doesn't really matter does it? He's still an amazing author. But it does explain some things:
Fight Club:
"We're a generation of men raised by women, I'm beginning to wonder if another women is really what we need."
=/ He's still gonna be my favourite author no matter what.
Well, does it really matter? like really?
It's his personal life, he likes what he likes.
Personally i find it hard to beleive what forums say about a personal trait about chuck, unless chuck tells me/us otherwise.
Another note:
Anyone find that the Anti-Gay people of this generation seem to make it harder for straight people to enjoy things they do? I'm straight, and i cant were a pair of "Yellow/pink pumas" to the mall while with a guy (friend) without people thinking im gay? That pisses me off, people in this generation look down apon gays, making it harder for straight guys to show any signs of sensitivity.
Anyone else feel the same?
"You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?"
-Lullaby-
Firstly, this generation?
Secondly, you're right; wearing yellow/pink pumas makes you really sensitive. Thank god for people like you to break down the sensitivity barrier.

are yellow pumas the new "thing" now for spotting gay people? Like it used to be an earring back when I was growing up. Its good to learn these things beforehand.
yeah, all the best writers are gay guys. other sexy wordsmiths who love the cock include Oscar Wylde and Cliver Barker, off the top of my head.
makes me wonder, you know, maybe if i wrapped my lips around someone's penis i'd be magically infused with the power to write great fiction. maybe i'll give it a try!
anything can be rationalized.
taco
camel toe
moose knuckle
cunt
all words chuck used at least once in snuff
fag
faggot
both are words i don't remember chuck ever using prior to snuff
as for this thread--and/or similar threads--ever completely dying, that just aint gonna happen because some of us are always around to stir some shit up: it says right on several of his dust jackets that he's married and lives with his family in WA

Wow! This is news to me!
yeah, married... to a guy!
why is sexuality so taboo? of course his writing or anything about him other than his sex life isn't dependant on his sexual orientation. but if you want to know about a person personally, than yeah, sure, thier sex life is pretty interesting. people are going to be interested in it. sure it's not our business to pry if someone doesn't want to talk about it, but if they do there's nothing wrong with us listening.
"Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but sometimes..."
alright, that's chill. doesn't matter to me because chuck is rad.

here's the straight poop for those that came in late.
apparently some magazine writer did an interview with Chuck and it came out that he was gay in the interview. Chuck gets wind that the reporter is going to "out" him when it's published, so he posted a blog on here back in the days when he'd post audio blogs and went on a tirade about the reporter and went ahead and outed himself before she could do it. Then apparently the reporter said something like she never intended to out him anyways. and then it was never spoken of again.
that story doesn't sound very plausable.
"Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but sometimes..."
nevertheless...
the story is true, at least kind of... she wasnt going to "out" him, in as much as he has never been in the closet. Keeping your private life private and being in the closet are two very different things. She/her editors had decided that the only way they could run the story was if it focused on his partner and their relationship, and he, rightfully, thought that was horribly reductionist and narrow-minded, considering everything they had talked about in the interview. In his blog he disclosed personal information about the reporter that she had shared in the interview process, so he was putting her private life out in the public the way she was going to do to him. she changed her article, the one they ended up running omitted the personal stuff, and he removed his ranting from this site.
there is an interview with him in the May 2008 edition of "The Advocate," which is a gay magazine for those who dont know it, but somewhere in the process he stopped supprting that article as well, as he felt the line of questioning had gone ina direction he didnt like (he stopped supporting it before he read a copy of the article, as opposed to after reading an article which he didnt like). Here is a link to the Advocate article: http://www.advocate.com/issue_story.asp?id=53581&page=1 which is not all that bad, though it does paint Chuck as somewhat defensive. And it points out in two places that he agreed to and then canceled on a photo shoot for the article (well in the magazine it ponts this out twice, once in the article and once in a caption to the photo they ran of him, which was from 2006 - I dont know if they mention it more than once in the online article) which seems like their attempt to respectfully paint him in a negative light. All of that being said, I didnt think the article was all that bad, it was an interesting portrayal and reflection upon Chuck's work.
And all of that being said, being a queer man I am proud to know that Chuck is gay. However, I also recognize what it is like to have that become a defining characteristic by which you are known. I myself have contributed to other "Is he gay?" forums in the past, because I am a curious fellow, and having gay role models is always important for gay youth. They are often likely to see gay americans portrayed in horribly isolating, stereotypical ways, and gay teen suicide rate is significantly higher than straigh equalivalents, and having strong, charismatic, intelligent role models who do not fit the flamboyant yet de-sexualized model of what america deems ok for a gay man to look like, well, that can be incredibly uplifting and important. life saving, for some, actually. And as someone who has done some (though not a lot) of queer theory work, I think there is a strong case to be made to call his work queer fiction, in as much as queer artists have an identity and struggle expressed through their art in ways different than straight folk, but at the same time, outside of academis the term queer fiction is very deliminating and pigeon-holing
but it is also apparent, form Chuck's relationship with interviews/interviewers that this is not a subject of his life he wanst to take the spotlight. I dont doubt he is proud of who he is. But who he is is a lot more than being gay, but unfortunately, in america right now, and in the media spotlight especially, that particular adjective trumps and signifies many, many others. And he wants his private life private, because his private life and his work are separate. sure, they are intricately and intimately linked - he couldnt write what and how he does if he wasnt who he was - but for his readers the writing is all that should matter, not where it came from or how. And with this in mind, I think the most respectful thing for the fan community to do, if we want him to continue writing amazing books, is to respect his wishes. If the tenor of the country changes and he decides that he wants more details of his private life to become public then he will share them with us. He certainly shares a lot, but he is just selective. No one has the right to be free from scrutiny or investigation, so there will always be folk looking into Chuck's private life, ESPECIALLY because he is private about it. But it doesnt need to be his fans that do so.
I read the article. it's a good article, but it does seem to be on the offensive, so it's no shock that chuck is defensive. I didn't like how right off the bat they say, "so why won't he talk about his sexuality?"
"Nine times out of ten it's an electric razor, but sometimes..."
to play devil's advocate - the article was written after Chuck decided to no longer support it (or so it seems). He based his withdrawal on what he read to be the tenor of the questioning. So there is a chance that if he had not withdrawn it would be a much different article. That's not definite, but it is possible.
My guess is though, this is the kind of article they wanted to write in the first place, which is what Chuck didnt want and what he felt in the interview, and that's the reason he withdrew his support.
Boring.
WHo the hell are all you people and what are you doing in my house!?
i've never seen more than half of you before.
omg I discovered the best post ever in ironically the worst thread ever!
I could care less if Chuck is gay. He still has a way with words. Plus, I have tons of gay guy friends and they are really great people just like anybody else. I remember listening to the commentary with him on Fight Club and what REALLY freaked me out was that I have a "straight" friend who sounds almost identical to Mr. P. It makes me wonder if my friend has a secret.....
Chuck Palahniuk being gay is a whole lot of useless information, I bet he is an awesome guy
I love how every few weeks this thread gets another post from someone new who notices it and
is not afraid to say
they will not diss someone who's gay.
Just change the avatars and names and they're all the same, with the exception of the spree earlier.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
lol @ the little kid in the background at 1:10
a bit off topic, but the article mentions a Lucille Ball, which is the name of an old lady who lived next to my grandma.
now I'm really, really curious...
