I didn't become a Chuck Palahniuk fanatic because of his looks, but when i saw him in the flesh yesterday, i thought he was "a stone fox". He barely looks like any of the pictures in the books, except maybe the most recent, but he has a style different from what i imagined. I was pleasantly surprised.

Well my take is, and I'd like to hear what Brazil has to say as well, I was suprised that he was so good looking and personable. I expected him to be funny and intelligent, which he is. But I was blown away by his rock star charisma. He looked like such a nerd in his author photo on early books. A nice, funny nerd and all. But he actually looks like this

He's amazingly friendly, astonished i was. He definately has charisma, he seems confident, and when he addressed the crowd he didn't seem to hold back. Not play down to us, you know what i mean? hmm...let me think what else... ah, what i noticed was his layed back persona. He gives you a sense of comfort. Don't be mistaken, i was probably the most uncomfortable being in that room, but you could tell he had a feeling towards his fans. Either that, or i'm imagining things.

no, he looked like mirkah's pic when i met him. which still, to me, resembles martin short. although one thing i have to say, he is quite jacked. i didn't expect him to be so muscular.

Wow, some of you people are crazzzzy. In that internet, we will never meet in real life sort of way. Craaaazzzzy wierdooss. I think the one thing I share in common with Chuck is A FREAKISHLY, ABNORMALLY, LONG NECK. Ok I exaggerate. But damn I wore turtle necks for as long as they were in style (a few months). Then I thought to myself, maybe it's not my neck. Maybe, if I gain 40 pounds and work out every day for the next two years it won't be noticable. I guess I was wrong, now I look even weirder. I guess that's why chuck looks so big and muscular. Does is neck look shorter now that he has those big muscles or does his huge muscles draw attention away from it? i saw a reading in june, and while im not gay or attracted to men in any way.. i know more than a dew gay guys so i understsand some of what they look for (which might not be what women look for) and i could ya know see where some of the gay men i know might like him. but his looks didnt seem all that special to me.. then again im straight.. but i'd think its more about his personality. he was more social and personable and charasmatic(?) than most of the othere celebrities ive met, or seen.

In a way its intimidating when a girl writes. But I find intelligence along with some looks of course to be very attractive.

Point is, sexuality is very important to the individual human/artist, and it's also key to the public's ability to semi-accurately 'perceive' where such artists are sometimes coming from in their works.
Besides, gay or not, if the subject comes up, I tell friends that Palahniuk is gay. Helps to weed out certain types ("The author of FIGHT CLUB is a fag?! Shit...").
