Unfortunately, you won't get much help here if you don't help yourself. Every once in a while someone signs up and asks for help with their homework, expecting a lot of friendly help, but the truth is, you won't get the help you want. It's not our job.

However, I would encourage you to check out as many reviews of his novels in respectable publications as possible. Any good review is bound to touch on what Chuck's work means in our society.

Go to the top of the page. To the right of Chuck's face you see AUTHOR and BOOKS. The drop menu for author has plenty of goodies. Under books, when you click on each book, their page has reviews... interviews... and such. Usually on the left sidebars. [URL=http://chuckpalahniuk.net/books/fightclub/]Fight Club[/URL] has "Fan Papers." I don't know their quality, but it's a start. If you use any, cite them.

I haven't even read the non-fiction stuff, which would probably be kinda important to the question, so I'm not answering. I stopped going to school ten years ago because of stupid bullshit questions like this*. My advice is to drop out.

I appreciate you need help with your homework, but the best way to ask for help is to provide a more dedicated questioned approach to what exactly you're looking for, and to ensure our personal confidence in how much effort you're placing in this piece of homework. If you're looking for us to write your essay, then you've come to the wrong place, not only that, but I'd sincerely advise against it. You've been given the assignment for a reason, for you to develop skills in collecting data about an author and to structure an arguement around that.

The point remains, however, that joining a forum and sending private messages to a large number of members, even after starting a thread, is rude. And yes, it's the internet. That doesn't mean there aren't social constructs in place such as etiquette and laws. Just like your homework assignment is asking for you. My advice would be to check out a couple of essays on Palahniuk in places, and see what you can quote (Give credit to the original author or you'll get in trouble). I'd also advise going over and reading all of Chuck's books if you haven't, to see exactly what kind of social-commentaries he's made. Fight Club seems the most obvious choice of quotes reflecting our times, regarding divorce and single-parenting rates, "We're a generation of men raised by women." regarding the commercialised state of art, the fixation we have on things with value rather than new pieces "Burn the Louvre" "Wipe my ass with the Mona Lisa.". You could go into detail about our hording of commodities, our culture's denial of death, our obsession with sanitation and looks, "Selling rich women their own fat asses back to them." "A house full of condiments and no real food.", and of course going into detail about our restrained desire to live, about our lack of purpose perhaps. The book has plenty of messages in itself, and there are plenty more Palahniuk books out there saying more about our culture, about science, architecture, art and politics. I'd definitely suggest getting a large piece of paper and making columns for each of the areas you want to focus on, and then rows for each book in which to write quotes and points regarding each area. If you don't know how to start your essay, I'd avise googling a how-to website and trying to find something online regarding essay writing. But coming to a website and plagueing us with messages asking for us all to help you with your homework is uneeded. You stick your head down, do your research and write what you need to write, you'll get your marks. I'd have left this message un-edited, and would have let the insult stand if I'd thought you were intelligent and would simply just sit down for half an hour and get an A, but I doubt it somehow, so put in the effort and do your best. Maybe mommy, or whoever's at home will give you than new x-box game you wanted when you show her your A.

Honestly Bluevic5 I dont think its right getting too much help with your homework. A few of the tips the guys above mentioned above should help and then just belt something out. You must already know a bit about Chuck if youve decided to pick him so have a shot at it. It would be interesting to get a local view on things and aswell from a school kid.

Acually, I quite missed your negativity while you were gone. The only problem I have with you is your ignorance of my limerick which was only written in response to yours. I highly doubt you haven't read it and the fact that you don't even dignify it with a response, praising or bashing, kinda gets to me. But other than that, I've come to the conclusion that your shit-talking is just a product of your age and I've never let a whiney little kid get to me before. Why start now? I think I'll write another limerick addressing your lack of response. I quite like these. It's at least one thing I know of that I'm better than you at. :cool:

My assignment was to research and write about Chuck.
I've been able to accomplish that thanks to all of your help and tips.

My second part of the assignment was to create a job aid.
The teacher defined a job aid as "a simple tool that condenses your info. into a useful reference tool"
She also wanted the job aid to engage the group somehow..

I've thought about doing a little booklet with tabs on the side as headings but that seems too boring..
The teacher mentioned that students have created bookmarks and card games..

Any ideas on what i could make?
