american dream related books by chuck?
Heyho,
in school we'll have to write about something of our choice, about 8 to 12 sites.
Maybe I'll write about a book by chuck.
We'll have to choose something which is related to our topic in the subject we choose.
In english (which i'd choose then) the relation would have to be American Dream or Post Colonism.
Can anyone recommend me a book by Chuck which would fit one of these topics?
well none of them are really about the american dream are they?
You can basically make "The American Dream" fit whatever you want it too. Like you can just about apply it to anything. Fight Club or Rant would fit well with it. Actually so would Choke, fuck just pick one and make the topic fit the book.

Chuck has said Fight Club is his take on The Great Gatsby and how it's about re-inventing yourself into being whatever you want. Which I suppose is the American Dream.
what happened to the german dream?
Died with Hitler?
Just Kidding. I love Germans!

if anything it died when the wall came down
that really screwed things up over there...
thanks for your replies.
i finally asked my teacher today what about fight club, because it criticizes the american society nowadays, in some way it's about failed dreams (raymond k. hessel) and also about achieve what you want (freedom, hitting bottom etc.).
However I was unsure if this would be enough so I wanted to hear some opinions about other books by chuck. My teacher was directly enthused by my idea, she said it is very related to it (she saw the film).
So if I can write in english (only 5,6 people per subject, i think about 5-7 are interested) it'll be fight club and rather the movie than the book, because i think with the movie i have some possibilities to write about the visual effects too (i'm interested in photography and that stuff) so i'd like to write about that too.
And it least, i could compare the book with the film if its necesary to pick up things fortm the book.
to the german dream and hitler debate.
Was there really a german dream? If yes it died with hitler rather than with the fall of the wall.
And yes things are really screwed up here since the wall fell.

fo real? how come?
I would do it on Survivor. The guy achieves everything that you could want - yet he's trapped and it's nothing that he wants. He just wants to be left alone.
Kids today... Writing a report based on a movie adaptation of a book.
I mean really.

The Russian Dream: Third in line and a slight drizzle.

Shouldnt you pick the book AND the author based on the topic already given, instead of choosing an author just because you like his work? It seems you're forcing the situation and might end with a half assed paper done about chuck just for the sake of all things chuck, which sounds like a shitty idea. If it HAS to be about the american dream, why not do fear and loathing in las vegas, by hunter thompson?
If your good enough you can make any book you want to be about what you want it to be.
Also true. God knows i've weaseld my way out of tough exam questions by giving 15-line answers that dont ever really say anything.
If it's the American Dream, I would highly recomend Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, as it's a major theme in that book.
Not a Chuck book, but I think it would serve you better.

you have read some of his books right?
