Just joined.

After a good, long run, we have decided to close our forums in an effort to refocus attention to other sections of the site. Fortunately for you all, we're living in a time where discussion of a favorite topic now has a lot of homes. So we encourage you all to bring your ravenous love for discussion to Chuck's official Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. And, as always, you can still post comments on all News updates. Thank you for your loyalty and passion over the years. These changes will happen June 1.

I had seen, since following Chuck on facebook, links to this entity known as "the Cult." I was fascinated by the name, and I've been writing since Jr. High, The Writer's Workshop seemed like something I wanted to partake in. Not so much participating as someone who is here because of their love of Chuck Palahniuk novels--even though Choke is one of my all-time favorites, taking up some precious space of my lone bookshelf--Of course, loved Fight Club (also a book that graces its presence on my bookshelf). But I'm here for the love of words and expression.

Thought perhaps the Forum might be a good way to get to know some of the members before paying for the workshop. It says quite clearly to sign up for a free account before getting a premium one. Thus, why not?

A little bit about myself: I work full-time as a legal assistant, formerly a computer repair tech for a private company and The Long Beach, CA Boys and Girls Club. Currently residing in Vegas, steeped in the words of Emerson and HST. I've dabbled in Kerouac and Dickens, and I'm a big fan of classical as well as political works; Machiavelli, Plato, Marcus Arelius, Julias Caesar, John Stuart Mill, Thomas Payne, The Federalist Papers, etc. I have a deep fascination with how time tends to bend our perceptions, and the way that history is recorded. I don't own a television and tend to watch a lot of documentaries online.
