Inventors / Inventions

After a good, long run, we have decided to close our forums in an effort to refocus attention to other sections of the site. Fortunately for you all, we're living in a time where discussion of a favorite topic now has a lot of homes. So we encourage you all to bring your ravenous love for discussion to Chuck's official Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. And, as always, you can still post comments on all News updates. Thank you for your loyalty and passion over the years. These changes will happen June 1.

So I have to write a paper about a book on an American Inventor or Invention.

I really don't want to do an obvious choice like Franklin or Whitney or anything like that. I want to do something bizarre. I was looking for something like the inventor of the bra (she's an American), but I couldn't find a good book on the subject. See that's the thing - I can think of a million things to do it on. But finding a good book out of it is the hard part. Some of the books that I found are super boring. Or I just can't find books on interesting inventions.

Does anybody have any suggestions of GOOD books on an AMERICAN INVENTOR or AMERICAN INVENTION?
