Haiku shit... Shit haikus...

After a good, long run, we have decided to close our forums in an effort to refocus attention to other sections of the site. Fortunately for you all, we're living in a time where discussion of a favorite topic now has a lot of homes. So we encourage you all to bring your ravenous love for discussion to Chuck's official Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. And, as always, you can still post comments on all News updates. Thank you for your loyalty and passion over the years. These changes will happen June 1.

Hey...
I'm new here...
I'm from Iceland, and I've been an amateur poet and writer for all my life (recently though, I've been taking it more seriously).
I've always written my poetry in icelandic, but after reading Fight Club a few years back, I had a little fit of writing poetry and prose in english, mostly trying to copy Chuck's style. Most of it, of course, sucked ass, but I have here a couple of haikus that turned out allright...
Please let me know what you think...

This one is from a novel I started writing, but gave up on. It was like a crossover between Fight Club and American Psycho. Mostly it was raw violence, combined with some bouts of poetry. I think the idea of having the main character write haikus was probably the death sentence... Talk about stealing ideas!
Anyway, I was only 17 and stupid... And it's buried in my drawer anyway.
But I discovered this haiku, although it doesn't make a whole lot of since, something about it seems nice to me...

Human sacrifice
In the interest of science
Azsteks filled with pride

Hmm... It made a lot of sense in the context of the story...

The other one is a translation of a short poem I wrote in icelandic, but didn't suit the haiku form.. It seemed like a nice haiku in english... It's much more recent (written sometime during the winter 2001-2002)
tell me watcha think...

The birds migrate east
They shit on selected heads
And miss their targets

...
You get it?

anyway, love the site, love the boards, though I haven't had time to cruise it all...
cheers!
