Bid On The Actual 'Fight Club' Yin-Yang Table To Benefit Homeless Pooches - SOLD!

Yin-Yang FIGHT CLUB coffee table

Update: The item was auctioned and won for $4,351.00! Congrats to the new owner of the table and for the good thing they did to support for these animals.

I just got an e-mail from Chuck asking that I let everyone know that The Pixie Project animal shelter, in Portland OR, is auctioning the actual Yin-Yang coffee table from Fight Club.  This is one of three tables that were used in the film.  The other two were (obviously) destroyed.  It was given to Chuck as a funny gift by David Fincher at the close of the film.

Bid on the table here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290687911585  - Auction Ended

All proceeds go to funding The Pixie Project, and help rescue dogs.

This table has been in Chuck's office for the past 12 years and he's now ready to part with it for a worthy cause. Furthermore, if you live anywhere near the Portland area, there's a chance he'll come and help you set it up.

Happy Halloween! Eli Roth as Tyler Durden

You gotta love Eli Roth.  Writer, director, producer, actor, horror fan (like me!) and... inspired Halloween costume afficianado!  I still remember his Ichi The Killer costume he wore at the Toronto Film Festival.

This year, Eli took the popular Tyler Durden costume idea to new levels with not one, but TWO variations!

I gotta say, I've always liked Eli Roth.  And now I like him even more.

These pics were posted on his Twitter @eliroth as well as his great Tumblr page at http://directorscuts.tumblr.com/, where you can see more pics of Eli in costume.

Happy Halloween!

Fake Criterions: 'Fight Club'

How the hell have none of you tried something like this before?  For as long as it became 'a thing,' I've been a fan of the fake Criterion covers fans have designed.  Not only are many of them hysterical (one of my favorites being Days of Thunder), but some of the artwork is damn good and clearly tops the shitty, uninspired DVD covers studios sleepwalk through.  (example: Scott Pilgrim vs. Scott Pilgrim).  These fans could be working for Criterion with these skills.

But alas, I've never seen a fake Criterion for Fight Club.  Until now...

This was designed by S. L. Jackson.  Here's what he had to say about the design: read more »

Shortlist.com's Collection Of Fan-made 'Fight Club' Posters

We've posted a few of these in the News over the past year.  But now Shortlist.com has big collection of all alternative Fight Club posters designed by fans.  This is a cool collection, yes, but they missed a few great ones.

Here's one of my favorites, which I hadn't yet seen. read more »

Video: 'Fight Club' Trailer Spoof - 'Cuddle Club'

Someone ask me why I keep posting these?  I guess with this latest, I just respect the fact that these guys went out and did something.  Plus, they look like they had fun making this.  And hell, the one dude even shaved his head.

Check out 'Cuddle Club,' a shot for shot remake (albeit, with some actual stolen shots) of the Fight Club trailer.

Video: 'Fight Club' Presented by The Girls on Film

Somehow I missed this one. I guess I shouldn't beat myself up since Fight Club continues to become one of the most spoofed and homaged films of the past 15 years. This spoof comes by way of The Girls on Film.  Here's their bio from their YouTube channel:

The Girls on Film is the earth-shattering, mind-blowing trio of professional actors Ashleigh Harrington, Cat McCormick and Jeff Hammond.

We're recreating awesome movie scenes between men, with women playing their parts. Its our innovative way of sharing our passion for storytelling and injecting our own personal cocktail of fun and friskiness throughout the galaxy.

We are in the process of remaking all of our favourite guy-on-guy movie scenes for your viewing pleasure. Please share with us your favourite male scenes so our fabulous team can make them too.

Tyler Durden Quote In High School Hallway

Tyler Durden Quote In High School Hallway

The original blogger said it perfectly: "Man, I wish my high school had been this cool." Really though, I grew up in an era where the most subversive book taught in school was The Catcher in the Rye.  Now don't get me wrong, I love that book.  But nowadays, we get at least an email a month from a college professor, high school teacher or student who informs us that Fight Club has joined their curriculum.

This school seems to have taken that to the next level.  Check out those hallway quote from Tyler Durden!

'FIST CLUB' Video: Cinemashup For 'FIGHT CLUB' & Florence + The Machine

Hot damn, is this well done.  Check out a great mash-up of Fight Club as cut to Florence + The Machine's song "Kiss with a Fist.'  It was edited by Jeff Yorkes and is titled 'Fist Club.'

Watch the video on Vimeo here.

And be sure to check out all of Jeff's CINEMASHUP's at his Vimeo page.  I've basically become addicted to them since yesterday.
