Mark Raffensperger has conducted a very cool audio interview with Chuck Palahniuk and Choke director Clark Gregg over at his site Zoom in Online.
This interviewed was recorded during the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and is the only piece I know of so far that features both Chuck and Clark together.
The title says it all. Choke will be playing this year's SxSW Film Festival at Austin, TX.
The festival plays March 7 - 15th.
Props to Kareem for sending this my way.
I've voted in the past three presidential elections, but never before on Super Tuesday. All of that changed this year. This is one of the most exciting and important elections in recent history. And I'm not talking about the Republicans. I'm talking about Obama vs. Hillary. If you live in a state that's having it's primaries today, please go out and vote!
It's February 1st, and you know what that means! A new essay from Chuck Palahniuk. Chuck has comitted to 1 year of these, so expect 10 more yet for 2008. Also remember that, for the first month they are posted, these essays are only available to Premium Members. Basic Members can view them one month later. So come March 1st, this new essay will be available to all, free, for one month only.
Time to strap in and get ready for yet another installment in the evolution of The Cult. Starting today with Irvine Welsh, you will be seeing a new interview on the site almost every month. Shit, some months you'll see a new interview every week! And they won't just be author interviews.
We're going after the top names in the comics, music, TV, literary, comedian and movie industries. We're going to try and keep all the interviews focused on writing, in one way or another. But don't kill us if they stray off topic sometimes. We can gaurantee that the topic of discussions will always be interesting, and fit right at home on our site. read more »
This is why I say a big 'Thank God' that Fox Searchlight was the company that purchased Choke. Because they've already slated it a release date.
Choke will hit theaters August 1st, 2008!
Props again to Caleb Peyman.
From the Sundance Film Festival's official site:
A Special Jury Prize: Dramatic, Work by an Ensemble Cast was presented to the cast of CHOKE. An adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel, CHOKE is the sardonic story about mother and son relationship, fear of aging, sexual addiction, and the dark side of historical theme parks. Cast: Sam Rockwell, Anjelica Huston, Kelly MacDonald, Brad Henke.
Props to Caleb Peyman for the news.
Peter Sciretta over at SlashFilm has conducted a great interview Chuck Palahniuk. This is the first interview with Chuck we've seen come out of Sundance this year. Hopefully it won't be the last.
Peter gets down to business with Chuck and delves into the latest status of his other novel-to-movie adaptations, his feelings on the Choke movie, Snuff, and Heath Ledger's death.
Here are some better quality pics of the cast and crew of Choke at Sundance.

Okay, that news title was lame. And I must confess, I spent a minute too long thinking of it. But hell, with a title like Choke, it simple screams for witty puns.
Over the past few days, reviews of Choke from Sundance have continued to pour in. Here are some more for you all. Notice that, there hasn't really been one critic yet who has overall disliked the film. It's been mainly positive, with people loving it, liking it, or simply being entertained by it, albeit, pointing out some minor flaws.
