the ghost in the glass
the night my friend andre was murdered, by a group of cowards, i spent three hours behind the garage in the gravel shooting a basketball with little air through a leaning hoop with no net. it had weathered much over the years, with the daily rain that washington state is known for. i could do little else. the concept of retaliation fell on his brothers, and of course htc. oddly enough, it wasnt a gang thing. it had to do with some bad coke deals. andre wasnt even involved with those, particularly. he was just easier to find.

my house was fucking nuts last night. jeff brought the louisiana moonshine. (fourth generation and grandpa passed away a few months ago, but they age it four years so we'll still be drinking grandpa's for the next few years.) he also brought his 16k dollar french horn. my buddy brian brought his '73 axe. jen brought the many screams and my buddy jack brought intensity. erin brought mikalah and i brought the beer. we ordered the high def package and we bought the 40" samsung lcd, so why not.

Chuck's Review of Jonah
.
One of my stories went before Chuck's eyes and his feedback was like a two year degree from whatever college. It is amazing, the insight that can be gained from the attention of an author, particularly to a novice like myself. I guess, not entirely unlike the attention Chuck received from Spanbauer so many years ago. That advice certainly took him places. And they write nothing alike
The idea to offer up thoughts on his thoughts occurred to me the day i read the review. I did aim to blog about it, but forgot. I do that a lot nowadays. Mark and Dennis made a big push for those interested by asking the Furious Five of Feb to splice-post their review, and this is a perfect opportunity to facilitate the desire I left in the trenches.
