Save Mr. V! - Support The Teacher Suspended For Assigning 'Guts' To His Students
It's taken us a little while to officially report on this story, and for that we apologize. It's a big story that a couple of reporters have already tried to call and contact me about. The site has no comment on this matter at this time except to say that you can show your support for this issue by joining this Group:
To recap, about 2 weeks ago, a popular high school English teacher named Greg Van Voorhis was suspended for handing out copies of Chuck Palahniuk's ground-breaking short story Guts out to his 11th grade students. According to the Gothamist:
That didn't go over so well with school administrators at the Bronx School of Law and Finance in Marble Hill, where the seven-year veteran was quickly reassigned from his classroom duties while the Department of Education investigates.
As most of you know, Guts is a short story which was featured in the March 2004 issue of Playboy and is included as a chapter in Chuck's best-selling novel Haunted. The story was read live on Chuck's 2003-2004 tours and is so far responsible causing over 75 people worldwide to faint. We featured such an incident in our 2003 documentary on Chuck Postcards From The Future, and you can read the full story of Guts here.

Chuck Palahniuk's next novel 'Tell All' just went up on Amazon as a pre-order this week, with completed cover design. I immediately went to the good people at Random House for a blurb about the book, and got these words from Chuck's wonderful editor, Gerry Howard:
“A dark reimagining of All About Eve and a hilarious assault on celebrity. From the absolute master of dark reimaginings and hilarious assaults.”
The book is due out May 4th, 2010. But you can pre-order it now.

Fight Club T-Shirts Are Finally Here!
For years we've been offering Tshirts on this website for all of Chuck Palahniuk's books. You have demanded them and we have delivered. But strangely, the one shirt we never made was a Fight Club shirt.
Well, that all changes today. In honor of the 10 year anniversary of the movie Fight Club, as well as the 10 year anniversary of ChuckPalahniuk.net (yes, it's been that long!), we are finally offering you the shirts you've been wanting for years! But this time we took things up a notch. We wanted this shirt to look different than the rest. We wanted it to not just feel like a 'Fight Club' movie shirt, but also channel the book. So we wanted a design that was balanced. Something hot. Something you'd wear out and not feel like too much of a fanboy. ;)
Chuck Reviews The June Workshop Finalists!
After a slight intermission, we return to you with perhaps the greatest feature we have ever offered on our website in 10 solid years of content. Chuck Palahniuk reads and reviews your stories! Hopefully by now you know the drill, but just in case you don't, lemme recap you!
Starting in February of 2009, we began a screening process, whereby about 17 original stories from our Writers' Workshop get nominated and then read by judges every month. The top 6 stories are then sent off to Chuck Palahniuk who reads, reviews and feedbacks them. The selected finalists are then posted here, along with Chuck's in-depth notes. It is Chuck's aim at the end of the year to choose the best stories and publish them in an anthology which he will write the Intro for.
As we are on a three month turnaround, below you will find the 6 stories that Chuck reviewed for June 09. Premium Members can click each story to not only read it, but also see Chuck's feedback.
The Great-God Bird of Arkansas - Wil D. Alton
Invisible Graffiti - Adam Skorupskas
Bike - BH Ebert
Logan Outbreak - J. R. Strohmeyer
The Line Forms On the Right - Amanda Gowin
The Soldier - Phil Jourdan
A big congrats to all the finalists. Chuck seemed to really enjoy every story we sent in June.
